A peaceful woodland studio near Haslemere, where Kitty teaches project-led art courses and continues her own creative practice. Each session gently nurtures confidence, curiosity, and artistic growth
I am absorbed in nature. My studio is surrounded by beings of all forms. I see the plants forever changing and adapting to their environments. I celebrate the beauty, vibrancy and confidence of the natural world.
We need to be embracing nature, living with it to support not just our world but our own mindsets. We have become detached from our natural state. We need to be reminded of how beautiful the world is.
My work celebrates the beauty of Surrey and its surroundings. It is an impression, a heightened version of nature, giving it more love and a more prominent stance. We need to be reminded of its beauty. We need to support it.
I believe my work offers a moment of reconnection, a way to pause, reflect, and feel more attuned to the natural rhythms around us. Through colour, texture, and expressive layering, I hope to share a sense of wonder and belonging that nature so generously provides.

As a practicing artist, I bring my creative journey into every lesson I teach. My goal is to create a welcoming environment where students feel inspired and confident to express themselves. Whether you're a beginner or looking to refine your skills, I tailor each session to meet individual needs, gently encouraging exploration, curiosity, and personal growth.
I truly believe that creativity is for everyone. My teaching is project-led, hands-on, and rooted in the joy of making. I take pride in helping students discover their unique artistic voice, often finding that the process becomes one of self-discovery as much as skill-building.
Springwood Barn is my bespoke studio, nestled in peaceful woodland near Haslemere, Surrey. After years of teaching in both state and independent schools working mainly with students in Year 3 to Year 11, I chose to bring my practice beyond the classroom and into this nurturing space. With a BA (Hons), PGCE, and QTS, I’ve taught across Surrey and Hampshire, including roles in Art, DT, and Textiles, and as Head of Visual Art and Creative Technology.
In 2025, I opened Springwood Barn to offer more personal, flexible teaching while continuing my own creative work. The studio now hosts small-group workshops and one-to-one sessions, designed to empower learners of all ages. It’s a place where making and learning happen side by side, surrounded by nature, grounded in care, and alive with possibility.
