Welcome to my Studio Gallery

I’m Kitty, an artist and creative teacher based on the woodland edge near Haslemere. My work is rooted in nature, the quiet rhythms of plants, insects, colour and pattern, and shaped by a lifelong love of accessible, joyful creativity.

I create paintings, collages and hand decorated papers that explore gentle mark making, layered colour and the small details found in the natural world. Alongside my own practice, I have spent eighteen years teaching art to children, families and adults, designing workshops that encourage playful exploration, confidence and a sense of calm discovery.

This gallery shares a small, curated selection of recent artworks and studio experiments, pieces that reflect the themes and processes at the heart of my practice.

In Love with Colour

“In Love With Colour” is a title that reflects not only my creative mantra but the way I experience the world. Colour is everywhere, shaped by light, form, atmosphere, and the shifting elements, and it remains endlessly special to me.

This small collection of abstract works marks the close of a busy, life‑affirming period in which I found my place as an artist once more. Through these pieces, I’ve returned to what I truly believe in: the beauty of colour and its power to express emotion, energy, and possibility.

Creating this series has brought me deep joy, and I hope that same sense of brightness and renewal reaches those who spend time with the work.

Expressive Florals

Imagination sits at the centre of my creative process, and colour is the thread that guides all my work. These florals, drawn with a freedom of line, celebrate the shifting beauty of nature, always forming, swirling, and renewing itself through the seasons.

After a long creative pause while raising my family, this series marks my own re‑emergence as an artist. It is a fresh beginning, a step out of the quiet and into possibility. These works hold the feeling of moving from darkness toward a path bright with opportunity.

Bluebell Woods

My studio sits beside a semi‑ancient woodland, and each spring the bluebells transform it. Vibrant purples rise against deep greens and earthy browns, creating a carpet of colour so intense it feels almost unreal. Their bloom is brief but powerful, remembered long after it fades.

This series of four explores the shifting viewpoints and depths from which these bluebells can be seen when walking through the woods. Painted directly onto wood panels, the work completes a quiet circle, using nature itself as both subject and surface, allowing art and woodland to speak to one another.

Garden Birds

My studio sits on a woodland farm that I’ve been slowly managing and improving over the past year. Many creatures pass through, but the birds in particular have a presence that feels full of personality and charm.

This series of four celebrates some of the characters who have visited me while I work. They are curious, bold, or simply unbothered by my presence. Each one feels like part of the farm’s small community, and each has been named for the way they’ve watched, investigated, or kept me company as the seasons shift. These paintings are a way of honouring their spirit and the quiet companionship they bring to the land.
